Rector's Message:
I would like to invite you to EMU to join our family and receive an
education of the highest quality. Our family consists of highly
qualified dynamic faculty members, energetic and capable staff, and a
body of 14.000 students eager to learn and make the utmost use of all
possibilities offered to them.
EMU, with a very proud past of 25 years in the service of higher
education, is on its way to becoming an EU University in the very near
future, and with a brand new vision and dynamism has launched a
university-wide initiative to "Aim for the Peak of Quality.” The new EMU
is the perfect candidate to be the "leading shining star" of the region
with its new administrative staff and the new programs it is
implementing to achieve change, quality and accreditation.
Our new vision is:
• To apply a modern, innovative, competitive and student-centered
educational model similar to its counterparts elsewhere around the
world.
• To contribute, in today's highly competitive world, to the skilled and
qualified human resource needs of the region.
• To prepare students not only for a career but for a bright future and
a prosperous life.
• To be a University attaching equal weight to practice and to theory,
and utilizing all the possibilities offered by technology.
EMU has so far had 19.000 graduates and they are either in the workforce
in countries ranging from Turkey to Iran to many others around the
world, or are successfully pursuing their graduate studies to attain
academic positions. The Alumni Office (DAU-MED) in Istanbul provides for
the continuity of relations between alumni and the university through
the Alumni Information Journal, and is ready to embrace all our alumni.
Furthermore, in addition to offices in Turkey and North Cyprus, we have
recently opened a new Alumni Office in Iran.
Everyone dreams of choosing a profession which they will not regret in
the future. Most importantly, this choice should be in line with their
talents, ambitions and inclinations. To achieve these goals, they should
pursue their education at an institution offering quality education. I
am therefore inviting all prospective students to take this opportunity
to receive a highly prestigious education and be part of Eastern
Mediterranean University, a miracle created in North Cyprus thanks to
the close ties established with and most importantly through the
contributions of the leading universities around the globe .
With warm regards,
Prof. Dr. Halil GÜVEN
